Term 1 - Reflection.

This term, I am having a lot of fun. We have been learning about lots of cool things, especially the events and programs that have been held at school. We have kiwi, for Example, we learn and play at the same time. Another one is the kiwi sport. we have played a lot of amazing sports like soccer, rugby, and volleyball. We have learned a lot and hope to see another kind of sport that we 've never played, that way we can learn how to play it. This term I have made a lot of friends. and there have been children enrolling to our school. I am basically friends with the whole entire class.  Next, we have music. Our lovely music teacher Mrs. Nairu teaches how to play and to play songs like Aotearoa. I've learned how to play ukulele, Recorder and even a glockenspiel. On the first week of school, we had swimming lessons from our own teacher's. first, we would swim around in circles and then have free time at the end of the lesson. after that, we would have to go change and then get ready for home time. This term we have all picked out a club. We have a drama club, dance club, art club, music and many more. I have chosen the drama club so that I can become a really confident speaker. And my group are going to be doing a play called " good as gold". It's about two aliens, who have missed the fueling station for their spaceship and then ran out of fuel, and they are stuck on planet earth, Then a boy named Josh comes and asked if they needed any help. he asked what their spaceship run's on, " GOLD" the two aliens said.  But gold is very expensive to buy so they had to work for Josh's friend Anita herd, she was a farmer, and she needed them to round up the sheep. After that, they were all covered up in wool and had sheep grease all over themselves. then Anita herd gave them a couple of bucks, but it was quiet not enough to buy gold. A dealer came and told them " I heard that, Well... it's your lucky day, I can lend you all the money you need, just sign it right here". But the two aliens weren't that interested, so they said " no deal". Josh had another friend called Owen lend. he has a bank. He will let the aliens borrow the money they need. but if it is to high it he will probably no give it to you. But then Owen lend gave them his gold watch, it was enough gold to start their ship. so they left the money they earned and gave it to Josh. We have been working on this play for the last two weeks. This term we got to get some leadership roles, like  House captain, Manaiakalani ambassador, school ambassadors, and media team. I applied for the media team because some of the other leadership roles are for year eight's, but luckily I got elected for house captain, and it is only for year eight's. The house captains for Nikau house was Candice and me, captains for kowhai house is Mathew and Maya, captains of Kauri house is Saia and Anita and captains for Rata house is Mahoney and Francesca(Lilo). And for the others, well... They have applied for something else. In this term, we have been practicing and participating in sports tournaments like Volleyball and softball. softball was so fun, we lost every game but won one, it was still fun because I got to see my friends from other's school. Then we have volleyball, I would say volleyball was the best tournament, we got to verse Tamaki primary, Glen Innes school, Stone fields and St piers school, we managed to win all our games and place first.   This term we've also been learning about Mindfulness, and every day we have been practicing. We've learned that mindfulness helps to calm you down from being angry and also helps to keep you from the Red zone and keep you in the Green Zone. So if you are angry you could go for nature walks, or do mindfulness breathing and also just wait for about 90 seconds. This is what I did on this Exciting term. It was a lot of fun because we got all of these amazing stuff to do.
